Heat Pump Heaven: Very noisy 2003 Carrier TECH2000 "Silencer System" heat pump running in COOL mode Tube. Duration : 4.98 Mins.

These heat pumps are all located on the same property as the 2008 Carrier heat pumps, located at 2 separate buildings that are attached by a covered outdoor breezeway. The 2003 TECH2000 unit seemed to be working fine, but it was just noisy as a result of what I believed to be a loose part somewhere. There was a newer Payne heat pump (also seen in the video) that was also running, and some of the older Carrier TECH2000 units were running. All of the Carrier "Round One" heat pumps are from 1984, and though none of them were running, I presume that they all work. All of the units in this video seem to be installed good and properly, though several of the "Round One" units seemed to be literally sinking as a result of the rains we have been having.

York Affinity Series 3S (13 SEER) 3.5-ton central air-conditioner running on a really humid day Video Clips. Duration : 15.85 Mins.

This is my friend's 3.5-ton York Affinity Series 3S (13 SEER) central air-conditioner from 2006. It is a straight-cool unit, not a heat pump, and it is matched up with an air handler. The central A/C system has no heating capability whatsoever. The home's heating system is the original hot water baseboard heating system, with an oil-fired boiler. The house is located kind of out in the boonies, so there is no natural gas or propane, and it has no public water or sewage. There are a well and a septic tank located on the property. The house was built in 1961, and DID NOT originally have central A/C. It is a 2-story, 4 bedroom, 2½ bathroom colonial, with approximately 2200-2300 square feet of central air-conditioned living space. The house also has a decent-sized finished basement that is NOT air-conditioned. The central air and the heating system are separate from each other, and are controlled by separate thermostats. The air handler for the A/C system is located up in the attic, and because of the unique construction of the old house, the contractors had to get a little creative with the installation of the ductwork. They could not fit all of the ducts out of sight, and in one first floor closet, a duct is hanging down from the ceiling. This DOES NOT affect the performance of the A/C system, it just looks unsightly and takes up space. The thermostat for the A/C is located in the hallway on the second floor, and the switch says "COOL", "OFF", and "HEAT", so it could be ...
