Ever since the Seattle Pop Festival, they have been wary of all outdoor appearances. Now They are scheduled to appear at what is often referred to as the last of the great festivals. Prior to their appearence, The Doors, without Morrison, meet the press at a tiny riverside pub in Hammersmith. The Doors had originally been scheduled to appear directly following Ten Years After, but are delayed until after Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The Doors are exhausted from their traveling and the previous weeks' court dates in Miami. Arriving at the festival, the weary band finds themselves sandwiched between Ten Years After and Emerson, Lake & Palmer on one side, and the Who and Sly & The Family Stone on the other. Their intense reflective music is out of synch with acts renowned for their fast anf furious pacing.
