My first impression of the JBL On Stage IIIP Portable Speaker Dock was favorable - it is a sleek speaker, that offers portability and a remote. However, after listening to the speaker a little more I was completely dissatisfied with the bass response. I am not sure if it is a defective speaker or not... it may have been, but I suspect that it could be the case that it just lacks a full sound. For comparison I rate the sound of the JBL On Stage IIIP Portable Speaker Dock significantly below Altec Lansing inMotion MIX iMT800 Portable Digital Boom Box for iPhone and iPod and the Altec Lansing T612 Digital Speaker for iPod and iPhone (Black) - although it is a little better than Livespeakr Ultraportable Speaker System for iPod/iPhone (Black) but it does not offer a rechargeable battery and the same level of portability.
