Mothers of a Nation - SNEAK PREVIEW Tube. Duration : 10.18 Mins.


We will have the short film up for a limited time only. We will be using the post-production grant to finish the sound mix. This is the a 16mm film that will be touring with the photography exhibition. Mothers of a Nation is about a group of empowered Ugandan women living with HIV and their fight for survival through sustainable farming methods. Narrated by Florence, a 55-year-old woman who has been living with the virus for over 13 years, the story follows the lives and histories of four Ugandan women of different ages who have all been diagnosed with HIV and have decided to seek treatment. We will be working with our partners in both the US and Uganda to create a system of demonstration gardens that learn and benefit from one another. The US gardens will raise money through outdoor screenings and collaborate to see through the implementation of a Ugandan garden Project. The idea behind collaborating and partnering in an outreach campaign surrounding the film and exhibition tour is to create visible social change and drive more people to our partners who in turn are driving people to us. Through screening and exhibitions we will reach a different, more geographically diverse audience than any one organization would be able to reach alone. We believe strongly in the power that film and art have to inspire and move people to action, through this campaign we can help them take the first steps.
